Emily loves expressing her creativity through her art and sharing it with the people around her.  Emily began to express her creativity through painting with acrylics after her husband gave her an easel and some art supplies for Christmas in 2005 (well, she picked everything out). She has won several awards in recent years for her paintings.

Galveston Memories

This painting was created from my memory, imagination, and a photograph taken by my husband while on a saltwater fishing trip to Texas.

The Marsh

I enjoy the suggestions of what lies below in this painting. It was one of my first paintings.

Ascending to Glory

The colors in this painting are my favorites.

My Kitchen Deva

Hung in my kitchen, I enjoy the intensely attentive feel of this woman who lives in my imagination.

Face of a Deva

This is a close-up of my kitchen deva's face. You can see she is really watching the action in the room. She has made my kitchen a nicer place for me to be.

Putumaya

I play music when I paint, and for a while I was playing lots of latin music from the Putumaya label. I got carried away with the music and found the trees in my painting were actually dancing. Interesting.

The Color of Music

I love wonderful music played while I paint. One day I simply chose my favorite colors and began to paint to my favorite music du jour, and this painting was the result.

Woodlands Secret

I had this idea of painting a tree from below with it stretching so far into the sky that it disappears into the clouds, which I did create. Then, I kept painting and the rest of the painting appeared. This painting won a blue ribbon in the landscape category at the 2009 Saline County Fair.

Oasis in the Dining Room

Here is a painting displayed on a display stand in the dining room of my home. Yes, the wall is red.

Emily in Art Class

I love my Tuesday morning art class. I put on my headphones and paint up a storm!

Galveston Remembered

Painted from photographs taken by my husband on a fishing trip to Texas. This painting won first place at the annual show hosted by the Art Guild of Saline County in 2008. This was the first competition I entered.

Jesus

A friend felt that this painting looked like Jesus Christ to her. It was one that welled up from my imagination.

Living Room Favorites

This grouping is in my living room. I enjoy it every day.

Portrait of a Mare

This beautiful mare won second place at the 2009 Saline County Fair in the portrait category.
