Our Recommendation

Connecting Spirit wholeheartedly recommends HeartMath Institute's new emWaveÔ unit, a portable device for training in increasing heart wave coherence.  We both have used the Freeze-FramerÔ (which is software designed to be used with a computer) for our personal benefit and have recommended it for our clients.  We find the portable emWaveÔ unit to be far more convenient and user friendly.

In HeartMath's Freeze-Framer Newsletter #39 is an interesting article describing the results of a study of the effect on horses of using HeartMath's technique, the Heart Lock-In, to increase heart rhythm coherence.  The study's results indicate that heart rate variability patterns do indeed reflect a change in a horse's inner state.  One of the horses involved in the study (pictured below) even placed his nose in Dr. Ellen Gahrke's lap and stayed beside her for the majority of the Heart Lock-In period.  More importantly, the heart rhythm patterns of all horses involved in the study became more ordered.
